The system has been designed to facilitate the use of a whole range of tool bits that can be quickly and easily changed. All the bits are driven by MT3 or MT2 tapers and fit both the Headstock, the Tailstock, and the revolving centres. Removal of the bits is also quick and easy by means of a knock out bar.
In sketch 1, the bits can be fitted directly in the spindle nose or into the extension 815. Using the extension will give more room for hand turning, or copy and sphere turning.
The sketch also shows a 4 prong driver 821 and a ring centre 845 turning a ball.
Sketch 2 shows two cup centres holding pieces of wood that have been recessed to accept
the sphere when turned 90 deg.
Sketch 3 shows how a lamp foot can be drilled (long hole boring). The four prong driver 866 with the insert 868 (peg nose) works as a counter bore/drive centre and 853 is a rotating pin centre with long pins that allow the wood shavings to drop away before they can reach the revolving centre 8200. Generally, long holes are bored half way, the work reversed, and the boring completed from the other end.
Cup Centre 850 and the mini faceplate 851 can be used to make and hold home made supports for bowls and goblets etc.
852 is an adapter with an external M33 thread and an inside thread M10 and this can be used to support faceplates chucks etc.
The LIGNO Heavy Duty Rotating Centres consists of a “rotating cup” centre that is carried by a very strong double rowed angular bearing greased for life and will give good play free performance when turning. |
